Tardan CIL power supply
“Tardan Gold” negotiated with JSV “Tyvaenergo” (wire electricity power supplier in Tyva) additional 4MWt of electric power allocated to CIL plant. Total wire power coming to Tardan will increase up to 6MWt, which is sufficient enough to provide power supply for ore processing on CIL and general mine needs.

Power increase project will require:
- Kyzyl-Kundustug power line reconstruction (Kundustug is a village located in close proximity to Tardan, 18 km);
- Kundustug-Tardan high voltage power line construction;
- Construction of a complex transformer substation at Tardan mine.

Onсe the new lines will be put in operation Tardan will stop using diesel electricity generation and remaining generators will be used for a backup only.  Expected cost saving resulted from shift to wire electricity supply is 6 RUR per 1 kWt/hour (approx. 10 US cents). Total mine electricity consumption per annum exceeds 30 mln kWt/hours.  It results into annual cost saving of $3mln (as compared to diesel generation power supply) and pay back period for investments into power increase project of about half a year.
